July 2022 is getting hot!

The month of June 2022 brought warm water temperatures in the upper 80’s which is unheard of for this time of year.

The mahi bite, so far, has not been good. Lots of really small fish and very hard to find which isn’t normal for June either. The good news is that it can only get better soon and July is going to be that time.

The reef has been very lively. Lots of yellowtail snapper anxious to bite and plenty of predators to catch. Come on down and let’s get out on the water.

Yellowtail snapper bite was Crazy in April!

The yellowtail snapper bite was crcrcrcrazy the month of April. The snappers were biting like they haven’t eaten in months, which is great of course.

The predators like sharks, barracudas, jacks and mackerels were also excited to devour our live and dead baits. They didn’t care what was on the hook they just wanted a piece of it.

These of course are great problems to have and hope they continue. Mahi should be showing up soon and grouper season opens May 1st.

March 2022 Fishing Report

In March, so far, we have had some windy days that have not allowed us to get out on the water. This is normal for spring, luckily it’s only been a few that we had to cancel. The reef fishing has finally come to life after a few weeks of hit and miss, the wind must have put a charge in them.

The yellowtail are really snapping and the predators like sharks and barracudas have been very aggressive, just the way we like it.

Trolling offshore has not been the greatest so we have been sticking to the reef line and the inside patch reefs picking up mutton snapper, grouper, kingfish and barracudas. Unfortunately grouper season is closed now so we have to throw them back. We always have fun and always catch fish!!!!

Call today to plan your next adventure.

Thanks. Patrick

February 2022 Fishing Report

The reef has been super lively tons of fish all over. Birds diving and bait jumping. Plenty of predators terrorizing those poor yellowtail like big jacks, barracudas and large sharks.

The offshore trolling bite has been slow so we have been working the edge, top and inside of the reef. Let’s catch some fish.

Book your trip today.

Hitting up the backcountry

The winds have been howling for the past few weeks so we have been hitting up the backcountry for some great shark battles.  Lots of snapper back there as well.  The mahi and yellowtail snappers offshore and on the reef should be going full blast as soon as the winds subside. Call today to reserve your day.

Keywest Fishing In December

On the Reef in November and December the yellowtail snapper fishing has been excellent. The sharks and barracudas have been very hungry as well. We have been fighting a lot of the predators for our good eaters.

The trolling offshore has been hit and miss so we have been sticking to trolling on the reef. We have been crushing huge barracudas and mackerel. Also mixed in are some nice groupers and sharks. Trolling in the Gulf in the past week has been tremendous with huge Kingfish and Barracudas. We have also been picking up Cobia as well.

After this cold front that is blasting us down here I believe the Blackfin Tuna and the Big King Mackerel are going to start going wild.

Get down to Key West, let’s have some fun and catch some fish.

Key West Mahi Fishing

The Mahi fishing finally came around the month of August. The first few months of summer were hit and miss on the mahi fishing but they finally lit up. Plenty of gaffers but the big monsters still have not shown there faces. The past few years the big dogs have waited until the fall to hunt the waters of Key West. We will be out there chasing them down.

Yellowtail snapper fishing on the reef was excellent always plenty to catch.

Make your reservation today for your fall mahi and snapper catching adventure.

April Fishing Report

April has been hot with catching huge grouper, we have caught some whoppers. The only downside is that grouper season is closed and opens May 1st. If the size and amounts are any indication of how grouper season is going to be it looks like a good one.

We have hauled in several 50 and 60 pound Black Grouper. The big Goliaths have been coming up as well. Even though they are protected they are still fun to fight. If you want to take a shot at a big one make your reservation today.

March 2019 Fishing Report

Fishing in Key West is a great way to spend time on the water. The challenge and excitement of deep sea fishing in Key West is only one part of the adventure.

There are many pieces to the puzzle for a day of fishing. You make the fishing reservation, travel to Key West, arrive at the boat, track down the fish and catch them.  At the dock I clean the fish, bag the fillets and put them on ice.

It’s now time for one of the best pieces of the puzzle, cook and eat your catch. Some prefer to have a restaurant cook. Others choose to cook at their vacation rental. Whichever you prefer the taste of fresh fish (you caught) is amazing. I would be happy to share my favorite recipes with you.

Book your charter today, catch fish and have fun. Let’s go on a fishing adventure.
