🎣 Key West Fishing Report: Wahoo Action and Limits of Yellowtail Snapper!

Beautiful weather, excellent fishing conditions, and a day full of action on the water! Yesterday was another fantastic day fishing with two customers visiting us from Kentucky. We made the most of the great conditions and put together an awesome day of fishing, starting offshore and finishing up on the reef.

High-Speed Trolling for Wahoo

We started the morning high-speed trolling offshore, targeting one of the fastest and most exciting fish in the ocean: the wahoo!

It didn’t take long for the action to begin. We hooked into a beautiful wahoo and successfully landed it, adding an awesome catch to the day’s excitement. We also hooked another wahoo but unfortunately lost that one. That’s fishing! These powerful fish are incredibly fast, and sometimes they win the battle.

Even with one getting away, we had a great start to the day and decided to take advantage of the excellent conditions by heading to the reef.

Excellent Yellowtail Snapper Fishing on the Reef

With the weather cooperating and the conditions looking great, we made our way to the reef to target yellowtail snapper.

The fishing was excellent! We caught our limit of beautiful yellowtail snapper, with some other interesting catches mixed in along the way. The action included barracuda and plenty of sharks to keep things exciting.

Between the offshore wahoo action and the steady reef fishing, our guests got to experience two very different sides of fishing in the Florida Keys—all in one trip!

The best part of any fishing charter is seeing customers having a great time and making memories out on the water. Our guests from Kentucky had an excellent day, enjoyed the fishing, and had such a good time that they booked another trip with us just two days later!

That’s always a great feeling and one of the best compliments a fishing captain can receive. We look forward to getting back out there with them for another day of fishing.
